ACTOR / DIRECTOR / COLLABORATOR
About Me
Dynamic. Specific. Intellectual. Growing up in Louisville, Kentucky, Steele was beyond lucky to fit right into a healthy arts community where he learned professionalism and collaboration. Moving to New York to attend Long Island University: Post on scholarship, he refined his skillset through rigorous physical text analysis training under Maria Porter. Here, he became an artistic asset who could fill any role be it on-stage, back stage, or behind the production table. Now, as a consistently working NYC artist, Steele uses all of his experience and knowledge to strive for excellence on the daily.
He is a chameleon ready to adapt to any scenario. Never one to stray away from bold choices, Steele can give a director a myriad of options, but leave his ego at home when the director has a different vision in mind. He loves every part of the creative process, brings dedication and warmth to any size project, and seeks learning and growth by always rising to the occasion. Everything from Shakespeare and sketch comedy to film/television and voiceover, Steele Whitney is game.
